What Activities Do We Explore?

Children enjoy a mix of open-ended play and guided activities, with about 60% child-led exploration and 40% adult-supported sessions — balancing freedom and structure.

  • Every morning, children are welcomed into our open play space. We provide a carefully curated selection of toys and activities that encourage socialisation, cognitive growth, and creativity. We believe a calm, relaxed start to the day sets the foundation for success. Open play helps ensure every child enters a space filled with opportunities tailored to their unique interests.

  • Every morning, after open play, we come together for a group game session — anything from parachute play to drama games or bean-bag challenges. It’s a brilliant way for children to connect, build confidence, and start their day with playful structure and smiles.

  • Construction-style toys & activities are great for building fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and early problem-solving. They help children explore shapes, balance, and design while encouraging creativity and cooperative play.

Activities include den building, and open play building games such as magnettiles & mega blocks.

  • Our art experiences are rooted in process art. We provide children with a range of engaging materials and encourage them to take the lead in creating their own masterpieces. While we occasionally offer a guided, themed craft, our priority is always to follow each child’s interests and ideas.

Sensory tuff trays are placed throughout our indoor and outdoor play areas, inviting children to get messy, explore different textures, and enjoy hands-on learning. These experiences often connect to seasonal themes, enhancing discovery and play throughout the year.

  • Children enjoy a maximum of 30 minutes of story-time cinema each day. We watch short story videos alongside calming activities such as colouring and quiet reading in the book corner. This restful mid-day segment allows both children and staff to recharge, saving energy for an active and engaging afternoon.

All videos are pre-approved by our director and carry a U rating.

  • Children can enjoy a cosy book corner in all of our camps as part of our continuous provision. Our hands-on team members are always available to support and share stories throughout the day. In addition, children take part in a scheduled group storytime session, encouraging a love of reading and language.

  • Where it all began for us — role play adventures! This part of our week is always a favourite. Our leaders take the children on imaginative journeys, whether they are fighting pirates or tiptoeing past the Gruffalo — we love to role play!

Children also explore other role play activities such as puppet shows and dress-up, with plenty of materials to spark creativity and build imaginative skills.

  • Children take part in age-appropriate sports activities that support movement and the development of fundamental motor skills. In the summer months, this may include a trip to the local tennis courts to learn the basics, while indoor obstacle courses keep things active and exciting year-round.

  • Every camp week includes a treasure hunt and word challenges. These activities are a fantastic opportunity to build social skills, encouraging children to work together to find hidden clues!

  • Outdoor play is a vital part of our curriculum, following EYFS guidance around thoughtful outdoor planning. Some of our camps benefit from their own dedicated outdoor play areas — whether that includes permanent fixtures like slides and climbing frames, or pop-up play equipment brought in to enhance the space. Others offer access to on-site forest school provision, while at our Marylebone camp we take daily trips to Regent’s Park, using it as our primary outdoor environment.

Wherever we go, we ensure children have a safe, inviting, and engaging space to explore, learn, and play.

  • Each day, children practise a short song and dance routine. Our sessions aren’t about creating star performers — they’re focused on helping children engage, follow simple choreography, and build confidence. At the end of the week, they have the opportunity to share what they’ve learned by performing for their parents.

We love how this special part of the week brings children and families together in a fun, collaborative celebration!

  • Yoga and meditation are woven into our weekly routine, offering children a calm and mindful moment in their busy day. Through simple poses, breathing exercises, and guided relaxation, children learn how to stretch their bodies, focus their minds, and recognise their own emotions.

These peaceful sessions support wellbeing, self-regulation, and confidence — helping children feel grounded and ready for all the fun ahead.

  • Our Highgate camp benefits from its own on-site forest school, which is fully woven into our daily plan. We provide engaging materials and guided support to help children explore and connect with the natural environment. Activities may include nature crafts, bug hunting, and hands-on discovery that encourages curiosity and confidence outdoors.

  • Once a week, children enjoy a fun-filled disco afternoon in the cooler month— the perfect time to let those dance moves shine! With sensory lights and bubbles (everyone’s favourite!), the atmosphere is full of excitement and laughter. It’s a wonderful opportunity to build social skills, celebrate the week’s achievements, and enjoy time with new friends.

  • Water play — a summer favourite! Children can look forward to splashing fun with water fights, fountains, and water-filled tuff trays. Beyond the excitement, water play supports a variety of learning and development benefits: strengthening motor skills, enhancing hand–eye coordination, and encouraging problem-solving through pouring, filling, and experimenting with different tools.

It’s also a wonderful sensory experience, helping children cool down on warm days while promoting social interaction, teamwork, and endless giggles!
